As little as possible, kept for as short a time as possible.
Someone reading a Library article about their own criminal record or custody dispute deserves not to wonder whether that visit is being logged against them. This page describes exactly what is and isn’t collected — no more than that.
There aren't any. Nothing on this site requires signing up, logging in, or giving a name, which means there's nothing here to create and nothing to lose.
Setting a county on a court guide is saved only in your browser's local storage, on your device. It's never sent to North Carolina Law or anyone else — set once, kept locally, never transmitted. Clearing your browser's site data clears it.
A pathway result can be printed or emailed to yourself. The print version is generated in your browser. The email option sends the checklist once, to the address you give it, and that address is not stored or added to any list afterward.
No third-party analytics, no advertising trackers, no data sold to anyone — the same funding disclosure that appears on the About page. Server logs are kept only in aggregate, for reliability, and are not used to identify individual visitors.
This site does not set cookies for tracking or advertising. The county-selection feature above uses local storage, not a cookie, and nothing about it is shared across sites.
When this changes, the change is dated below and noted on the Corrections page — the same standard applied to every other page on this site.
