    (a) A petition under this Article may be filed in district court if the court has jurisdiction to make a child-custody determination with respect to the child at issue under Article 2 of this Chapter. (b) A district court of this State has temporary emergency jurisdiction under G.S. 50A-204 if the court finds a credible risk of abduction.  (2025-25, s. 45(b).)
