The board of trustees may terminate the existence of the authority by adopting a resolution by majority vote to do so at any time when it has no outstanding indebtedness. The resolution to terminate the existence of the authority does not become effective unless and until ratified by majority vote of the board of commissioners of the county that created the authority. In the event of such termination, all property and assets of the authority not otherwise encumbered shall become the property of a unit of local government within the territorial jurisdiction of the authority as specified in the termination resolution and, if accepted by the unit of local government, the unit of local government shall succeed to all rights, obligations, and liabilities of the authority.  (2025-39, s. 5.1.)
